Sarnath is one of the important Buddhist historic site located near Varanasi. The city is famous for being the first place where Tathagat Buddha preached five of his companions for the first time after gaining enlightenment. This was his first ever sermon.


Bodh Gaya is the place where Gautama Buddha is said to have attained Enlightenment under Peepal tree (BodhiVruksh) on vesak purnima. It is said that Sujata Offered kheer to Siddhartha, thus breaking the six year-long fast of Gautama Buddha, opening the way to his enlightenment.

Dungeshwari caves are the small caves  whereTathagat Buddha spent 6 years of his time meditating in this small cave before he embarked to meditate under Bodhitree where he eventually was enlightened!

Lumbini

Lumbinī is a Buddhist pilgrimage site in Nepal. It is the place where, according to Buddhist tradition, Queen Mahamaya gave birth to Siddhartha Gautama in 563 BCE.


Kapilavastu the place where Siddhartha Gautama has spent his 29years and it was the capital of the clan of the Shakyas.

Buddha Pooja : Vanna gandha gunopetam/ बुद्ध पुजा : वण्ण-गन्ध-गुणोपेतं

Buddha Pooja

Vanna gandha gunopetam, Etam kusuma sanatatim.

Pujayami munindassa, Siri pada saroruhe

Translation : Buddha pooja

This mass of flowers, Fresh hued, fragrant and choice, I offer

At the sacred lotus-like feet of the Noble
Sage.


बुद्ध पुजा

वण्ण-गन्ध-गुणोपेतं एतं कुसुमसन्तति ।

पुजयामि मुनिन्दस्य, सिरीपाद सरोरुहे ।।१।।

अर्थ

मैं वर्ण, गन्ध और सुन्दर गुण से संपन्न इस पुष्प से भगवान बुद्ध के कमलवत पावन चरणों मे पूजा
करता हूँ ।।१।।
